Biomedical needles inserted into shoulder of patient

Biomedical Dry Needling

Available in: Saskatoon | Warman

Similar to acupuncture, dry needling is a technique that inserts solid filament needles into the muscle for therapeutic purposes.

It can be combined with other physical therapy treatments to:

  • reduce pain and inflammation
  • decrease muscle tension
  • normalize input into the body’s nervous system
  • improve mobility

What can you expect?

Patients will be informed about Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN) and sign a consent waiver.

Your therapist will insert needles in trigger points to elicit a twitch to normalize the tone of the muscle. During a TDN session, the needle will be removed as soon as a twitch is elicited.
